스페인어에서 숫자(기수)는 대명사 및 형용사로도 쓰인다.
단순히 숫자 1을 칭하는 uno는 남성명사형(~o)로 사용한다.
1 (기수) + 명사가 올 경우는 남 uno, 여 una 로 구분해 사용한다.

1~10까지는 물론, 1~30까지는 별도로 외워야 한다.
31일부터는 30+1 (treinta y uno/a) 형태로 99까지

하지만 100 아래 십 단위는 다시 y + (1~9)
200 이상 백의 자릿수는 성/수 변화를 한다. 뒤에 여성명사가 오면 -o가 -a로 변한다.
